Biographies of major contributors of material to the club's collection

Byron "Jack" Frost joined the Tacoma coin club on Oct. 23, 1959 as member number 89. He served in the following positions:

  • Board member; 1960-61, 64-66, 73-75, 81-87.
  • President; 1968-70.
  • Treasurer; 1980-81.
  • Chief of Security for the Beebee specimen of the 1913 Liberty nickel in 1969.
  • Banquet chair, show chair and guest speaker many times.

He joined the Lakewood Center coin club on Aug. 8, 1963 as Charter Member number 9 and served in the following positions:

  • President; 1964-65.
  • Past President; 1965-66.
  • Vice President; 1979-80.
  • Banquet chair, show chair and guest speaker many times.

When the two clubs merged, he was awarded Life Membership number 1 and served on the Board until his death in 1990. He was always willing to help wherever he could. Jack contributed 17 items.

George Booth Joined the Tacoma coin club on Feb. 23, 1962 as member number 143. He served in the following positions:

  • Banquet committee; 1962.
  • Newsletter editor; 1965-66.
  • President; 1966-68.
  • Board member; 1975-76.
  • Hosted annual summer picnic at his home in Shelton for over 20 years.
  • Show chair and guest speaker many times.

“Honest” George is a true gentleman and did “IT” when everyone said let George do it. When the two clubs merged, he was awarded Life Membership number 6. George contributed 15 items.

Laura Enearl joined the Tacoma coin club on Sep. 11, 1957 as Charter Member number 3 and served in the following positions:

  • Banquet chair; 1958.
  • Refreshment chair; 1957-72.
  • Active member until 1979.

Laura was the wife of the first President of TCC and filled in many times as secretary over the years. She passed away in April 2002. Laura contributed 8 items.

Norm Mikat accumulated the additional 100 plus items from many different sources.
