Guest speaker Bill McKivor, who spoke about British tokens and early American items,
such as the Lieutenant Colonel John E. Howard / Battle of Cowpens early American medal shown at right.
According to Bill, "It is the first strike of a Comitas Americana medal done by the U.S. Mint in the 1860's.
The originals were done in France, and are impossible to find unless you have $25K in your pocket.
The American restrikes are also very rare but a lot cheaper."
Note there are also modern restrikes including those done in pewter for the Bicentennial.
