Silver proof medal from Germany. The obverse features Martin Luther (1483-1546). The reverse
features the Frauenkirke in Dresden, Germany. This 18th century Lutheran church was destroyed
by allied bombing in WW II. The ruins were left for 50 years as a war memorial, following the
decisions of local East German leaders. After the reunification of Germany, the church was rebuilt.
It was rededicated in 2005.
