What is the mission of the Tacoma-Lakewood Coin Club?
Our mission is to unite numismatists in the South Puget Sound area to share knowledge and passion for collecting.
How can I become a member of TLCC?
Simply attend a meeting or contact us online to learn about joining our welcoming community. The process is simple and the cost is low.
When and where does the club meet?
We hold monthly meetings in the Tacoma area; details are posted on our website calendar (or just visit the homepage for our next meeting).
What types of collections are welcome in the club?
Members collect coins, paper money, tokens, medals, and related numismatic items. Some even collect coin books!
Are beginners welcome to join TLCC?
Absolutely! We encourage collectors of all levels to join and learn together. You can also attend a meeting or two for free if you have questions about coins in general, about an estate, etc.
Does the club host events or workshops?
Yes, TLCC organizes regular talks, workshops, and coin shows to engage members and the collecting public. The club participates with the PNNA in the Hobby Hall at the annual Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
What should I expect at a club meeting?
Monthly club meetings typically include a brief report on club news and activities, some type of educational presentation or activity, show & tell, a raffle and auction, and refreshments and time to socialize with fellow club members.
What should I expect at a coin show?
Coin shows can be a bit daunting and overwhelming at times, but we’re here to help. Keep in mind that coin dealers at shows rent table space from the club (or other show sponsor) but are independent business owners. See an article about coin shows on the PNNA website.
