When does the TLCC have banquets?
The club is no longer holding annual banquets; however, it does have an annual informal private members-only get-together and BBQ in July, and an annual holiday party (usually at the regular monthly meeting location) in December.
The club held annual banquets for 7 of the 11 years from 2003 to 2013. These are listed below, and more details including photos will be incorporated into the planned club news documents for the decades of the 2000s and 2010s.
List of TLCC banquets, 2003 to 2013
March 4, 2003 – Happy Days Diner in Lakewood. The guest speaker was Gene Henry, long-time numismatist and coin dealer (now deceased) from Seattle. His informative and entertaining talks were always a hit.
In the photo above, Gene Henry received a “green jacket” from club president Dave Schmidt as an award for speaking at the TLCC annual banquet.
April 13, 2004 – Tacoma Elks Lodge. The guest speaker was Del Cushing, long-time numismatist from the Seattle area (now deceased). Del showed us an interesting slide presentation on the topic of “Northwest Exonumia.”
April 4, 2006 – Tacoma Elks Lodge. The guest speaker was Steve Cox, president of the Seattle Numismatic Society. Steve showed us an interesting slide presentation on the topic of “Art in Numismatics.” No banquet was held in 2005.

March 8, 2008 – Tacoma Elks Lodge. As described by editor Rick Schulz, “Our annual banquet went off without a hitch. The 28 members and guests in attendance were entertained and informed by guest speaker Ross Hanson, president of Northwest Territorial Mint.”
